In a PhD highlight so far, City Blocks was invited to Build London 19, hosted jointly by Royal Institute of British Architects and Epic Games, as one of the “carefully curated selection of best in class Unreal Engine projects”! The event bought together industry leaders in architecture and architecture visualisation and was hosted by RIBA to over 300 delegates.
The day consisted of a series of lectures from projects utilising Unreal within the field of architecture and insights into how real-time visualisation will disrupt working practices for the better. One particular project of interest was from Chalmers University of Technologies and the industry / academic collaborative project ‘City of Gothenburg’. They aspire to create a complete digital twin of the city, and as hosts of the next ICED in 2021, I am sure they will have a significant presence in the field over the next couple of years.
