At the Museum of English Rural Life, I collaborated with the purpleSTARS to prototype a Virtual Reality experience that transformed a 2D animation of an English forest through the seasons into an immersive 3D environment. The prototype expanded on the original animation by placing it within a dynamic 3D scene that reflected the changing seasons as the animation progressed. This integration provided visitors with a sense of being surrounded by the forest’s transformation, offering a new perspective on the interplay between time, nature, and environment.

The project served as a proof of concept, demonstrating the potential of VR to enhance storytelling and engagement in museum exhibits. It ultimately supported the commissioning of a team to create the now-available exhibit at the museum. Through this work, I gained valuable experience in VR prototyping, blending 2D and 3D media, and collaborating with creative stakeholders to bring ideas to life. This project reinforced the value of emerging technologies in making cultural and educational experiences more interactive and impactful.
