I joined a team for an in-person game jame at Code Chrysalis site in Tokyo. We also had one remote programmer based outside of Tokyo. The team had a range of experience and skills and we managed to create a complete 3D game built over a weekend that included a narrative, win conditions and a core gameplay loop.
I used the opportunity to explore the new Unity particle system, something I was previously completely unfamilar with, and if the main character could be made of regenerating bubbles. I also contributed to programming the core gameplay loop, as well as level design.
Introducing 'Bubble Boss 2', a game with no prequel (because the name was already taken).
Bubble Boss wakes up and is late to his meeting with Panafoamic! Running out the house, the trains are out of commission.
There's no other way, he has to run to make it or he'll get fired from Toshibubble!
Take Bubble Boss through the streets of Tokyo as he battles through obstacles and people that pop his bubble, literally.
Pick up speech bubbles that will build him back up, literally, to get to the meeting on time!
Can you get him there on time to save his family and become the best bubble in town?
Features:
- Avoid obstacles as you run towards the Panafoamic HQ finish line
- Hitting obstacles pops body parts that slow you down until you're gone!
- Pick up speech bubbles from NPCs to build your speed back up
